My Story
After many years of working for other people, I decided to work for myself. I was earning good money and working with good people.
So, making the shift was scary but right. I was bored.
I quickly realised how little I really knew and how my work world had been quite isolated when it came to keeping up with the latest trends and technology.
On the plus side, I was good at what I did and could work fast, was super-organised, used my initiative and really knew how to connect with people.
These are all top skills I used to start as a Virtual Assistant (VA) providing business support.
The VA gig was bringing in money and easy.
I got bored. What more could I do?
I also came to realise that setting up and running a business wasn’t easy. A lot of people fail or struggle because there’s a lot to learn and do. It’s a competitive market out there.
You can’t do it all or be everything.
So, I outsourced the stuff I wasn’t great at or, frankly, I hated.
As The Digital Spork, I shifted my focus to marketing. I upskilled to complement what I knew and what I was good at, helping other businesses get seen online and convert reluctant browsers into eager buyers.
Now, I have the best of both worlds. I love what I do, the variety and the difference I make, helping other businesses on their journey to success.
